In #developer-talk, TankNut and DMatter04 saw props spawning as effects on dev. drobotk said that every changelevel changes which models break, and the helicopter bomb becomes an effect after about 12 changelevels. Darth couldn't reproduce it on the same dev build after 25+ changelevels.
BREEDNKMs reported that NPCs crash when searching for cover after the hEnemy change. ZehMatt added a repro; drobotk: spawning a Crow crashes; TotallyARussian: metrocops crash, only on dev.
In #next-update, Zaurzo reported his UI broken on dev. Rubat said it's likely the surface.DrawTexturedRectUV change, and Zaurzo confirmed that was the cause, since RNDX uses the function. He will fix his copy of RNDX, and suggested the new behaviour may need to go behind an argument since it's "already starting to break shit".
The thread turned to RNDX's author: puffy asked whether Srlion still works on his GMod projects, Nykez said "no, he quit", and Astralcircle noted he left the GMod Discord too.
In #next-update, Gonzo Pipi said Lua autorefresh stopped working for him on 64-bit dev (Windows 11 26H2) and asked how to debug it. Rubat said he added a console print for when autorefresh will certainly not work. On Windows there may be debug output, visible by attaching a debugger such as Visual Studio or WinDbg. Autorefresh changed in the previous day's dev update; he isn't having issues himself.
In #next-update, Redox reported that voice still randomly breaks on the 64-bit dev branch (build 10205 from 16 Oct). A fullupdate doesn't fix it, and snd_restart fixes it only temporarily.
In #next-update, Cynthia listed functions missing from the menu state on dev: Angle, CreateMaterial, GetLoadPanel, HTTP, http, LerpAngle, LerpVector, OrderVectors, UpdateLoadPanel and Vector. Rubat confirmed it and said the change wasn't silent: the changelog states "Remove some unused libs from menu state". He added that the wiki shouldn't list menu state functions at all, since the menu state isn't meant for modding. On GitHub, kila58's issue "CreateMaterial missing from menu state" was closed as not planned.
robotboy655 applied a fix on dev for the 2017 issue about bad UV tiling in surface.DrawTexturedRectUV, noting it may move to a separate function or argument if it breaks addons (commit 6a75b6).
Commit 4e35e7 on main fixes the spawnmenu middle mouse click regression, makes the spawnmenu survive addons that provide incomplete NPC weapon data, and replaces the shipped edited Infected materials with a fallback done in code.

-force32bit trying to launch 64-bit CEFnpc_alyx related crashesrobotboy655: the placeholders were made override-able on the dev beta / future update.
TeddiO reported that a Win32 server started with +tv_enable 1 crashes on changelevel, reproducible on a clean install with Sandbox. robotboy655 replied it should already be fixed on the dev beta.
drobotk, who is working on an addon to make Portal 2 maps functional, asked to remove the "visual placeholder" entities such as prop_button or implement them properly. BREEDNKMs noted in the thread that Lua can now only override a whitelist of classnames, which grows as people request it. drobotk asked whether the whitelist is published anywhere.
