Linux x86-64 client crashes in libcrypto during HTTPS verification

megascan reported repeated SIGSEGV crashes on Linux x86-64 inside the Steam Runtime's libcrypto.so.1.0.0 (RSA_new_method) while a Bootil thread verifies HTTPS certificates.
